we got invited to a couple of parties this year for new years which for someone other than us, would be like hitting the popularity jackpot having to actually choose what invite you accept..yea, not so much at making it a no brainer to sit it out, especially considering we have both been up since 5:30 am because its still a full work day for us and the last thing we both want to do after a long day with people, is to people some more no offense..
I used to believe new years eve was the most iconic night of the entire year, except when I over drank myself paying heavily for the hangover the next day feeling like utter shit..i used to think these plans where vital for a good time, and if I had to sit it out because of life’s circumstance, I would feel like the biggest loser missing the best party of the year..how age manages to make some so much wiser and smarter is just incredible..
when I broke up with alcohol by choice years ago because lets face it that shit will fuck you up and then some, I also lost the feelings associated to the idea of what a party was to me..i was no longer controlled by the needed substance and its drunken myth in the juice and the medias representation of what a good time looked like.. for once i was able to actually enjoy myself while not be motivated from a fuzzy blur making better choices for my healthier self..its a beautiful thing when you can allow that party girl persona to finally retired naturally on her own!
as the new year eve approaches and my work day is over, I relish in the fact that I don’t have to get done up with my hair and makeup, and try to put together an outfit since my sweat pants and hoodie are the new “black” for me..i look forward to being cozy and comfortable with my best friend, eating middle eastern food, enjoying the laughter of our own humor, not caring if I see the ball drop and calling it another beautiful night!
wishing you all a fabulous evening however you intend to celebrate it..remember its not about the party, the place, the price, the food or alcohol in the end, its about the company you keep whether your with a crowd of people or a party of 1..be responsible in your surroundings, don’t let people make drunk decisions by drinking and driving, be a good friend to those idiot friends wanting to make stupid choices, have fun, be safe, but most importantly ARRIVE BACK HOME SAFELY!
happy new year to you and your beloved! wishing you all prosperity, good health, abundant blessings and good fortune to all! peace love faith hope
